API 5L Pipe
The purpose of this specification is to provide standards for pipe suitable for use in conveying gas, water, and oil in both the oil and natural gas industries. EEW applies this specification to both seamless and welded steel line pipe. EEW supplies pipes with plain-ends, with ends suitable for threading as well as pipe with ends prepared for use with special couplings.
The API 5l specification establishes requirements for two product specification levels (PSL1 and PSL2). These two PSL designations define different levels of standard technical requirements. PSL 2 has mandatory requirements for carbon equivalent, notch toughness, maximum yield strength and maximum tensile strength. The PSL designation has to be defined by the customer at the time of order placement. EEW will produce pipes to PSL 1 if no PSL level has been defined at the time of order placement.
All EEW Group pipe mills are licensed to apply the API Monogram to products complying with the API 5L Specification.
The purpose of this specification is to provide standards for pipe with improved corrosion resistance suitable for use in conveying gas, water, and oil in both the oil and natural gas industries.
EEW's pipe mill in Erndtebrück, Germany is licensed to apply the API Monogram to products complying with the API 5LC Specification for CRA Line Pipe.
The purpose of this specification is to provide standards for pipe with improved corrosion resistance suitable for use in conveying gas, water, and oil in both the oil and natural gas industries. EEW supplies both metallurgically clad pipes as well as liner clad pipes to this specification. The clad and liner clad pipes are composed of a carbon steel base metal outside with a corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) layer inside the pipe. The base material conforms to API Specification 5L except where modified by this specification.
EEW's pipe mill in Erndtebrück, Germany is licensed to apply the API Monogram to products complying with the API 5LD Specification for CRA Clad or Lined Steel Pipe.
